Did you know several abortion funds have paid a price for speaking out about Palestine?
From losing funding, to being harassed, to being silenced - they continue to be targeted by Zionists in the abortion access space. Reproductive Justice includes community care and our abortion funds need our support now!
In an effort to continue highlighting the intersections between reproductive justice and imperialism, we invite you to join our four panel series to learn about Palestine, Haiti, Congo and Sudan through a Reproductive Justice lens.
In our first workshop partnered with Worshops4Gaza, three reproductive healthcare providers who have been silenced in their workplaces for speaking out about the Palestinian liberation struggle will discuss what it means to practice medicine ethically in the midst of imperial wars.
Abortion Funds
While abortion is for everyone, not everyone has the same level of access in obtaining abortion care. Abortion funds play a critical role in supporting marginalized communities who are disproportionately impacted by abortion bans. Just as the people of Gaza are denied their fundamental rights and resources, so too are people in the U.S. denied their fundamental reproductive rights. Abortion funds bridge those connections for supporters, callers and those new to the RJ movement.
Serve Community
When someone is able to make a decision about their own body and life despite the numerous barriers - this invariably builds power. Abortion funds strengthen each of their callers to rediscover their inherent bodily autonomy. Abortion funds are an investment in life, justice, and self-determination for all people. By calling individuals and organizations to invest in abortion funds and divest from Zionism, we are stressing interconnected solidarity and resilience.
Build Power
Abortion funds support people in obtaining life-saving medical care amidst repressive barriers put up by the state. When a person determines that abortion is the best decision for their life, they are met with disinformation, stigma, and isolation - abortion funds step in and offer informational, financial and emotional support preventing mental health risks or medical complications.
Save Lives
Abortion Funds are part of the healthcare infrastructure. Like clinics, hospitals, birthing centers, and so much more, they play a role in providing care. Abortion funds offer mutual aid and practical support to ensure the most impacted individuals in our communities can access abortion when they need. Abortion funds save the lives of those the state has abondoned.
Restrict Access
to healthcare
Abortion Funds are rooted in local communities as a safe place. The values of compassion, care, and liberation are at the core of the work of abortion funds. They are the anti-thesis to violent systems that harm and hurt. They provide a container for people to navigate violent systems and support with the safety planning so people can access healthcare safely.
Abortion Funds are not in the business of policing anyone’s actions, or lives. They believe in respecting the agency of every individual to make decisions about their bodies for themselves. They do not dictate what a person should do or can do. Abortion funds help people access what they need to take care of their bodies. They reject policing in all its forms - from the individual to the state level.

Access Reproductive Care-Southeast was founded in 2015 and provides funding and logistical support to ensure Southerners receive safe and compassionate abortion care. ARC-Southeast centers reproductive justice in all that we do, which is why we find it imperative to speak out about injustices from the U.S. South to the Global South.
"We wrote a statement and spoke out against the genocide in Palestine because it is the right thing to do. If our callers cannot trust us to speak out against genocide, then how could they trust us to speak out against anything else? We have to replace fear and repression with understanding and boldness, to continue making vital connections about the state violence happening between one state and another, from city to city, and across borders is the basis of reproductive justice. And if we become scared to speak up for others in dire times, how could we expect people to be bold enough to speak up for us?" ARC-Southeast Communications Director Musa Springer

The DC Abortion Fund (DCAF) is one of the largest abortion funds in the U.S., supporting abortion seekers from DC and across the country. With zero eligibility requirements, connections to multiple area clinics, and a relentlessly supportive community behind us, we make abortion access happen for thousands every year.
After publicly calling for a ceasefire, DCAF received backlash and lost significant funding in the following months.

Founded in 1993, Abortion Fund of Ohio supports community members to access abortion care through financial assistance, practical support, case management, and connections to other critical resources. As Ohio’s only statewide abortion fund, we believe all people should have the agency and resources to make the best decisions for their bodies, lives, and futures. For years, AFO has advocated for Palestinian liberation and has received backlash and a loss of funding.

Midwest Access Coalition (MAC) is a practical support abortion fund who, since 2015, has been assisting people of all ages traveling to, from, and within the Midwest in accessing safe abortion care.
“After our statement, I had emotional conversations with colleagues and funders that made me hopeful we could replace propaganda fueled conflict with historical, holistic understanding. I've discussed generational trauma, colonialism, racism, the world's past and present genocides, and who benefits from it most. I know these conversations can and are happening wherever people are genuinely working on supporting vulnerable communities. I wish funders would recognize those connections are constantly happening, because what they did only helped fuel the government's fight against free speech and it led to less people getting abortion care.” MAC ED Diana Parker-Kafka

Zionism goes against Reproductive Justice. Zionism fuels the occupation of Palestine, global surveillance, and the global war industry. The BDS Movement (Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions) calls on our organizations, institutions, and us as individuals to divest from Zionism and boycott multiple pressure points.
Zionism is a settler colonial ideology and political movement founded on the idea of racial supremacy, ethno-nationalism, and apartheid. It is responsible for the colonization and occupation of Palestine, the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians from their homes and land, and the century-long, Western-backed genocide.
Reproductive Justice is the human right to have children, to not have children, and to raise our families in safe and sustained communities. It means full access to health care, resources, reproductive options, and bodily autonomy free from state oppression. The RJ movement is international, and requires international solidarity from the U.S. to Palestine, to Haiti, the Congo, and Sudan. An attack on RJ anywhere is an attack to RJ everywhere.
Do you contract with
companies on the BDS list?
Do you platform Zionists?
Have you cut funding to orgs
that stand in solidarity?
Have you remained silent
after a year of genocide?
We’re calling on organizations, funders, and
community members to rethink the ways that they may
be supporting reproductive genocide in Palestine.
As longtime abortion advocates, we know firmly what happens when we choose not to speak up about oppression and state violence. Being vocally supportive of our Palestinian siblings is crucial, because silence only supports the oppressors. Disinformation, fear and repression spread when people choose silence. Advocates for abortion and advocates for Palestinian liberation cannot afford to be silent in the face of our oppression because it is a matter of life and death. We must act with the knowledge that our struggles are intertwined.

History of Palestine and BDS
“We bear witness to the reproductive genocide taking place in Palestine by the Israeli regime.
We bear witness to traumatized mothers who have to deliver their babies without anesthesia,
with doctors using the flashlights of their phones to conduct the operations due to being cut off
from electricity by the occupation forces.”

“Looking at the genocides in the Congo and Palestine makes clear our liberation and our
oppressions all are intertwined. From Israeli billionaires who steal resources from the Congo
and use the money to build illegal Israeli settlements, to the surveillance tech that companies
use the Congo to create so they can oppress Palestinians. “
“What reproductive health, rights, and justice organizations are unwilling to risk in solidarity with
Palestine mirrors the limitations within their movement that inhibit their solidarity with all people
seeking abortion care, and those who support them, as anti-abortion criminalization escalates
across the country.”
“American police departments have increasingly looked to Israel for “anti-terrorism” models
since the 9/11 terrorist attacks. In the decades following, more than 1,000 U.S. law enforcement
officers and first responders have been sent to Israel for joint training exercises with their Israeli
counterparts.”
“To be sure, Kashmir and Palestine are not identical, nor are any other two global regions. But
their struggles share a common source: British colonisation.”
